TPS65094: TPS650940 and TPS650945 about Buck 3-5 what`s different?

Part Number: TPS65094

Dear,

We saw TPS65094 and TPS650945 about  Buck 3-5 mode  auto and forced PWM?  What`s  different?

and how to choice?  our platform was Apollo Lake.

If any suggestion, Please advise me.

Thanks,

Best regards,

Lawrence.

  • Hi Lawrence,

The Auto mode on TPS650940 allows BUCK3/4/5 to switch between PFM mode for low current draw and PWM mode for higher current draw. This can be disabled via software if this behavior is not wanted. TPS650945 does not have an auto mode and is always in PWM mode for BUCK3/4/5. For new designs, we recommend using TPS650945 or TPS650947, depending on which one fits your use case.

    Best regards,
