TPS25926: UL Report and Failsafe Condition for EN/UVLO

Part Number: TPS25926

Hello,

I looking for two things:

1. The UL report used to qualify the device for UL 2367 and UL60950.

2. I need to know if the UL approval (single point failure UL60950) of the chip also applies to the EN/UVLO pin.  In my application, I can’t have the EN/UVLO pin internally fail in an ON state.  It must be approved to fail in an “OFF” state for UL and single point failure.

Many thanks in advance for a timely response.

Don

  • Hi Donald,

Today is holiday in TI India. I will get back to you early next week.

  • Hi Donald,

UL evaluates our devices from current limiting perspective under “solid state overcurrent protectors” category. They test the device across the current limit range specified in the device datasheet by modifying RLIM values and across the recommended voltage range.

The standards UL 2367, UL 60950 does not considers fail safe/state of other pins of the device under evaluation. In fact, they disable UVLO, OVLO protection of the eFuse as they care only about the current limiting variation/tolerance.
