TPS1663: IN&P_IN Separate power supply

Hi,

PIN IN&P_IN is supplied independently. Is this ok? Do not use UVLP and OVP functions,P_IN provides a stable 24V,

because Vin range is 0.3v to 24V, but TPS1663 minimum output voltage is 4.5v, so PIN IN&P_IN is supplied independently.

Another question,Our short circuit fault is caused by the short circuit of LED water in rainy days, and the short circuit current in the short circuit is about 20A.

Therefore, the short circuit fault time may be relatively long, and whether the impact short circuit current that occurs repeatedly in the process of automatic retry of blocking will have an impact on the chip

Hello Neal,

For TPS1663x devices to operate, a min voltage of 4.5V is recommended both for P_IN and IN pins. See 7.3 Recommended Operating Conditions.

The device will turn off as IN voltage goes below 4.5V.

The device has a fast response for short circuit on output and it will turn off the internal FET within few µs as overload current crosses I_(FASTTRIP) value. Please refer to t_{FASTTRIP(dly)} in timing requirements.
