We have used TPS61030 as boost, low shutdown current application (3.6v->4V). It works well. Now we would like to use it in another low shutdown current application. Input voltage is 3.6V (battery), output voltage is 3.3V (500mA). Is it any side effect for this reduced voltage application? Or any recommendation.Thanks.

Hi,

TPS61030 is a boost converter, used in Vout > Vin condition.

What's the voltage range of the battery? If the operating range is 3.0-4.2V, you want to get a fixed 3.3Vout, then a buck-boost converter is necessary.

Hi Zack,

Thanks. The battery range is 3.0-3.6V. We need a lower quiescent/shunt down current one for a fixed 3.3V output. A power shunt down contro switch is

preferred. Would you please give some recommendation?

The buck-boost converter TPS63051 will be a good choice.

Hi Zack,

Seems the performance of TPS63051 can meet our requirement. But a simply package should be preferred. BGA or RMW related package is not flexible for soldering. Any other package for similar chip? Thanks.
