Dear all,

Our customer would like to know about value of data command.

Could you answer the following questions?

1. The VOLT value is the AD voltage converted to the input voltage to the BAT pin.
Is that correct?

2. There are two types of reading “RM” on the IC depending on whether filtering is performed. (UFRM, FRM)
How is the battery level measured and calculated?

The gauge measures the battery voltage through the bat bin. The value reported by the gauge on bqstudio ought to be the same value you measure on the battery. The voltage on the input of the bat pin is stepped down to 1V be fed into the ADC of the gauge and then scaled back up in firmware. Does this answer your question?

The unfiltered values for RM and FCC are the values the customer needs to look at . The filtered values are mathematically modified to prevent jumps in SOC which is what the end user would see, ie SOC. This is for a better user experience as SOC temps to have jumps due to temperature changes. For more understanding on how our gauges work, this see support training videos below:
