hi Team,

customer using LM5116 for BBU solution.

test condition Vin 60V output 12V, current = 0.1A

on customer's pcba the LM5116 IC will go up to 70 degC.

but on LM5116 EVM will only go up to 45 degC.

is there IC Tj plot graph for the EVM that's available to check the Tj value.

Hi John,

Did you test it with same condition 60V to 12V/0.1A?

Thermal performance depends on system design like PCB size, layers and layout etc.. the temp you mentioned is the case top temp, right? can you check the temp increase based on PCB temp?

thanks for the reply,

yes, same condition of test on EVM and customer PCB, measuring the temp from the LM5116 top of the IC case.

when you say "check the temp increase based on PCB temp?" where should the measuring point be?

can I also forward the PCB layout and schematic to you for double check?
