TPS61165: Buck-Boost Solution

Part Number: TPS61165
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS54201

Hi E2E,

My condition as below,

VIN=12V

VOUT=10.3V(Typ.); (LED VF=2.06, 5-Series)

IOUT=1A

Because we need to consider that customer will MAYBE add/less LED, so we want to use buck-boost solution.

Is it OK for use the circuit as below? How do I calculate the comp CAP?

Thanks!

  • Hi Julian,

        I'm afraid that maybe TPS61165 can support up to 1A since the minimum internal current limit is only about 0.96A. There must be some current ripple on the inductor, so it may trigger the current limit. How about TPS54201, although it can only support buck topology. but it can deliver up to 1.5A.

    Regards
