UCC28950: 1500W smps - 24V 62A 3 phase 415V ip

Dear sir,

I want to design 24V 62A (1500W) SMPS with 3- phase ip 350VAC to 500Vac without PFC (voltage MODE with overcurrent limit).

I am confused to decide topology for the following two option.

1) simple full-bridge topology with SG3525 ic 

2) PSFB topology with UCC28950 ic.

please suggest UCC28950 is suitable for my application? I have 12V aux power supply for IC located on secondary.

I have good experience with 3525 ic and i can design power supply faster then UCC28950.

Kindly suggest SR controller if I am going for SG3525.

Also, support for excel design tools if I am going for UCC28950 in that I don't have any experience.

    Hi Monil

    I cannot comment on the SG3525.

    The PSFB will give ZVS switching over most of the load range which will help improve the efficiency. The UCC28951 also provides the SR gate drive signals which is useful to improve efficiency at 62A at 24V.

    TI has a 600W 12V EVM available,

    There is an excel calculator tool for the UCC28950 which is pin 2 pin compatible with the UCC28951,
