BQ40Z50-R2: About BQ40Z50R2 " 15.15.1.3 Initial Battery Mode " resister detail

Hi  

Our customer  want to use  Smart Battery system  with  Gauge BQ40Z50R2 and  Charger BQ24725A .

And we want to use   BQ40Z50R2  Host mode with SMBus Charger .

We have question for about this resister setting mean each one . 

Could you tell us about  this resister mean ?? 

BQ40Z50R2   TRM   15.15.1.3 Initial Battery Mode


1) CHGM (Bit 14): Charger_Mode (R/W)
      1  = Disables ChargingVoltage() and ChargingCurrent() broadcasts to the host and smart battery charger (default)
      0 = Enables ChargingVoltage() and ChargingCurrent() broadcasts to the host and smart battery charger
2)  AM (Bit 13): ALARM Mode (R/W)
      1 = Disables AlarmWarning() broadcasts to the host and smart battery charger
      0 = Enables AlarmWarning() broadcasts to the host and smart battery charger (default)

3)  PB (Bit 9): Primary_Battery (R/W)
     1 = Battery operating in its primary role
    0 = Battery operating in its secondary role (default)  

4)  CC (Bit 8): Charge_Controller_Enabled (R/W)
     1 = Internal charge control enabled
     0 = Internal charge control disabled (default)
5)  CF (Bit 7): Condition_Flag (R)
     1 = Conditioning cycle requested
    0 = Battery OK 

6)  PBS (Bit 1): Primary_Battery_Support (R)
    1 = Primary or secondary battery support
    0 = Function is not supported. (default)
7)  ICC (Bit 0): Internal_Charge_Controller (R)
    1 = Function is supported.
    0 = Function is not supported. (default)

    1. Like it mentions you enable or disable broadcasts to charger to request the charger to provide appropriate voltage.

    2. The same but it enables or disables alarms

    3. Primary means the battery is operating as a primary cell. We recommend leaving it at 0.

    4. CC, you want to disable the internal charge controller here, this is because you want the charger to have control of your battery.

    5. This flag is set if you have not performed the learning cycle

    6. This function is a recommended to be left at 0

    7. You want to leave it set to 0 as you don't want to use the internal charge controller as your charger will support the charge control.
