TPS61088: How to be down Vout to 0V

Part Number: TPS61088
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: PMP9779, TPS61178

When EN pin is pulled low, TPS61088 is in shutdown mode. But Vout is not down to 0V. I understand this is a specification of TPS61088.

Is there any way to be down Vout to 0V?

Regards,

Tamio

  • Dear Sir,

Since the TPS61088 upper side MOSFET has a body diode, so even EN is low, the Vout can't be zero, it is around Vout=Vin-Vf, where Vf is the voltage drop across the body diode.

You can add a MOSFET at the output side to disconnect the load. Please check the TI design PMP9779. Or you can choose TPS61178, it integrates a disconnect FET inside the IC.
