Hi,
I was trying to verify the no load current consumption on the chip (~700nA). I have removed the pullup resistor jumper. The current consumption seems to be about 700nA for the most part, but I see some spikes that reach upto 16uA. Is this in line with what is expected, or could be something up with my setup? Here is the capture:
Hello Agusta,
Does any activity occur when you see the current spike? Does the device go into Active BAT mode? what is the voltage on /CD?
Hi Raheem,
I don't have anything connected to the EVM (no - load). the jumper is pulled off of CD - VSYS pin. I see 0v on the CD pin.
Hello,
Is VSYS and PMID disconnected from everything on the EVM. Including the VINLS, LED pull ups, I2C pull ups?
Hi Raheem - There was nothing connected to VSYS, PMID. I removed user led jumper and i2c pull-up jumper. Batt with ammeter connected to the eval board.
I can re-check or share setup via PM
Hello Agusta,
Are you able to reproduce the current spikes? How often do they occur and can you measure the time between the spikes. Also can you show a plot of the SW pin of the DCDC converter along with the load current.
Hi, Just checking in to see if the information I provided earlier was useful/reproducible.
Hello Agusta,
Sorry for the late response. The peaks you see in the battery current is due to the PFM mode of the DCDC converter.
