TPS53622: Accuracy Calculation and Performance Analysis

Part Number: TPS53622

Hi,

Please help in providing the artifacts, to calculate accuracy and performance analysis aspect for this part TPS53622A. We understand there is DAC capable of 5mV resolution but how to justify our design with the output voltage as it is variable SVID based. Please suggest your input.

Thanks,

Vikas G.

  • Hi Vikas,

Vout will be controlled by TPS53622A and follow the changes of DAC by SVID. As long as the remote sense point is connected to CPU socket correctly, you don't need to worry about the accuracy. Also, the requirement usually come with AC spec as well, as long as the Vout is within AC+DC tolerance, it should be fine.

    Thanks

  • Hi,

We have 4 SVID voltages and only 2 channel for sense pins to SoC. In order to justify our design we trying to be accurate in all the aspects. As DAC in TPS53622A have 5mV resolution and considering errors, accuracy, tolerance we might have to show the calculations. Is there any sugestion to justify our design.

Also, do we have a transfer function for the DAC that will also help.

  • Hi Vikas,

For those no required remote sense connection to SoC, you can still tie the remote sense pin close to the load near SoC in order to compensate IR drop from inductor to SoC.

    Thanks.
