TPS23756: System reboot result from output noise

Part Number: TPS23756

Hi Team,

I use TPS23756 as the system power from PSE to 5V, but this makes system reboot. Do you have any idael for the condiction below?

1. The system work well with 5V from TPS23756, but after LAN data package transition, system reboot.

2. If use DC source for system 5V, then system is normal with LAN data package transition

3. If use 10V DC as TPS23756 input, then system is normal with LAN data package transition. But it reset when increase the input voltage of TPS23756?

What maks this difference? the difference of input voltage is only the peak-to-peak of Vds.

Please help on these 3 question

Thank you.

  • Hello Anson,

Thank you for your questions. Before we start, can you clarify some items for me, so that I know we are talking about the same things?

    1. When you say "LAN data packet transition," do you mean that your Ethernet data cable is receiving data and any transition from no data to data means that the system shuts down?

    2. Is "DC source for system 5V" mean that you remove the TPS23756  and its DCDC power stage, and insert 5V at the output to power the system?
Or do you mean that you inject 5V into the power stage? Can you please explain?

    3. As above, do you mean you inject 10V into the power stage of your design, or are you powering the TPS23756 with 10V DC.

Additionally, which topology are you using with the TPS23756?
Finally, I think it would help if I could look at the schematic. Thank you very much!
