LM66100: Managing 3 power sources

Part Number: LM66100
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS22933, TPS2121, TPS2120

Hello Team,

We have just presented LM66100 to our cutomer.

The cutomer interested in setup for 3 power sources:
1) USB
2) Battery
3) 12V DC power sourse

But LM66100 doesnt support 12V input. Do you have any plans for 12V version of this material?
Do you have another integrated solution for this case? What can i recommend to the customer?

I have also found TPS22933, but it supports only 50mA continius current. The customer needs at least 100мА.

BR,
ILya.

  • Hi Ilya,

Have you taken a look at the TPS2121 or the TPS2120? These a small form factor power muxes that have a compliant input voltage range and can supply the required current amount. For three input muxing, you will need two of these devices and an external logic circuitry for muxing. I am not familiar with the external logic required.

Also, we will not post future plans or roadmap information on a public forum.

  • Hello Shreyas,

    Thank you for the information!
2 pcs of TPS2121 is "overkill" solution for portable device due to it's cost/power consumption.
Are there any other TI's solutions for this case?

Do you need any additional information about this case?

    BR,
    Ilya.

  • Hi Ilya,

We do not have an integrated solution for this muxing case in our portfolio.

It might be possible to mux the 12V source and the USB with a TPS2121 and then build external logic and then use a LM66100 or a compliant low Iq load switch to mux the battery input.
