TPS65218D0: About L4A and L4B pin

Part Number: TPS65218D0

Hi,

Could you tell me about L4A pin connection parts?
The following D22 diodes is installed in EVM.

"AM438x ePOS EVM Hardware"
http://www.tij.co.jp/jp/lit/ug/spruif8/spruif8.pdf

However, it is not introduced in the data sheet.
Please tell me why the D22 is installed.

  • Yusuke-san,

This diode is a workaround for TPS65218B1RSL (-B1 silicon), which is NRND.

If you use the newer device, TPS65218D0, the workaround is not required.

The -D0 silicon was re-designed to fix multiple issues identified in -B1 silicon, including the start-up issue on DCDC4 which is the reason that D22 was added.
