LM5163-Q1: TINA model

Team,

do we have TINA model for LM5163-Q1?

The SPICE one which is available shows strange behavior in simulation (in LTspice). It looks like the device was in BOOST current mode without slope compensation. It's switching in ON TIME – max ON TIME cycles.

TINA model could perhaps help to properly simulate it.

  • Hi Bart,

We don't have TINA model for this. But I can loop in modelling team to get verifiy present Pspice model.

Can you please let me know, what is your application? And can you please give me more detail about the issue you are seeing in the model.

  • Hi Ankit,

I can't disclose details about application in public forum.

Which more details about the issue are needed?

    Kind regards

  • Hi Bart,

I recommend using the LM5163 quickstart calculator (downloadable from the product folder) to select the appropriate ripple-generating components for correct ripple voltage waveform at the FB pin. The waveform you showed above indicates instability due to insufficient ripple. See app note snva874 for more detail.
