LMR14010A: Enable and VIN Undervoltage Lockout

Part Number: LMR14010A
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LMR16010

Hello everybody. I'm designing a buck converter (Vout=9V, Iout_max=0.5A), using the LMR14010A. As input voltage, I am using a 12V 7Ah lead-acid battery, and I want it to shut down the LMR14010A when the voltage in the battery decreases to 10V, and reactivate when it exceeds 13V. This IC has an enabling pin, but as read in the datasheet (Section 5 and Section 7. 3. 4), is activated and deactivated just at 1.25V, has no hysteresis.

On the other hand, I noticed that the voltage input pin has a UVLO, activates with 4V and shuts off with 3V. According to Section 7. 3. 4 of the datasheet, you can change the UVLO voltages using resistors, but since the UVLO is on the voltage input pin, and not on the enabling pin,

I don't know how to do it, could someone help me solve this problem? Thank you very much, I hope I can solve my doubt soon, have a happy day

  • Hello Juan,

If you need to enable the device in question with Hysteresis you will need to use an external window comparator.

Alternatively please consider the LMR16010 for your application described above using equations 2 and 3 in the datasheet.

    Hope this helps?
