TPS92682-Q1: Higher CW Current through replacing diode with MOSFET + driver?

Hi team,

Can you answer the following question by a customer?

"The TPS92682 is not switched synchronously. Can the diode be replaced by a Mosfet by using a corresponding gate driver, has anyone ever asked for this? We need higher CW currents than usual."

    Hi Franz,

    We do not have circuitry in the TPS92682 to drive the external FET to replace the diode.  The external circuitry would have to monitor the current on the FET and turn off when there is reverse current if it's in discontinuous mode.

    We have not heard of this request before.
