What is role of the R1 on the EVM?

Can it be allow to eliminate this?

    Hi Kuramochi,

    This L/C EMI filter tank has very high Q value as all capacitors are ceramic caps, R1 is added for proper damping to stablize the L/C impedance. another solution is to use electrolytic capacitor with big ESR
