1100 W power supply

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UCC28951

Need topology advice for designing 1100 W DC-DC power supply.

  • Input: 300 Vdc
  • output: 90 Vdc
  • Output power: 1100 watt
  • Isolation: 2 kVac

Looking for help to get idea for topology and device selection.

Thanks,

Parth

At this power level and voltage we recommend using a phase shift full bridge converter with UCC28951.  This device is designed to support isolated DC/DC with similar voltages for both input and output at this power level.

The isolation rating is determined by the magnetic components and gate driver used.

    • For magnetics please work with your preferred magnetic vendor to make sure the isolation rating of the components used is sufficient
    • For the gate driver, depending on how you reference UCC28951 you may need different type of isolated driver.  Once you determine which type of driver you need you can find the right isolated gate driver from TI here http://www.ti.com/power-management/gate-drivers/isolated-gate-drivers/overview.html
