Hi All,
If I used bq24074 as my charging IC, can I still use bq27510 for my battery guage IC? The datasheet mentions that SYSOFF is needed to measure OCV of the battery. Is there other implementation if my charging IC has no SYSOFF pin?

I think the answer is no because the bq27510 have to use SYSOFF to discharge battery. So, bq27510 can learn a battery capacity through a full charge cycle.
I will move this post to gas gauge forum and hope you can get more clear answer from there.
The question is: The bq27510 datasheet mentions that SYSOFF is needed to measure OCV of the battery. Is there other bq27510 implementation if my charging IC has no SYSOFF pin?
Hi Wang,
Thanks for the info.
In this case, does that means if I want to use battery gauging, I would have very limited choice of battery chargers?
