BQ34Z100-G1: Variable Definition

Part Number: BQ34Z100-G1

Hello.

I am reading TRM SLUUBW5 and would like some help understanding what certain variables mean. In section 3.4.3 (page 28) six variables are referred to when describing Autocalibration:

Bus Low Time

Deadband

Autocal Min Current

Delta Voltage

Delta Temperature

Autocal Time

I can only find Deadband as a flash parameter - please can you let me know what the other values are (or which flash parameters they link to).

The reason this is important is because we are experiencing some calibration problems on our manufactured product and I want to ensure that autocalibration is being allowed to operate.

Many thanks

  • Hi Dave,

Delta voltage is the ripple in voltage seen by the gauge during a cycle

Delta temperature is the change in temperature or variation seen in a cycle

Auto cal time is the time taken for auto calibration

bus low time does not matter, it doesn't concern with calibration

auto cal min current is the minimum current for auto calibration to take place

  • Hi Batt

Many thanks for the answer, it helps a little but I realise that I probably wasn't clear enough with my original question. What I'd like to know is what these parameter values are. E.g. is Delta voltage 1mV, 100mV or something else? I can't see flash parameters that correlate to the parameter names (with the exception of Deadband) hence I am assuming that they are either fixed values or map to different flash parameter names.

    Many thanks

    Dave

  • HI Dave,

No, if the parameters are not visible they are fixed to defaults that can't be changed by the end user. Please don't worry about what the value are as they are set to verified values.

  • Hi Batt

Thank you, I appreciate your response, however as I have an end customer who is wanting a comprehensive explanation it is not sufficient to 'not worry about what the values are'. I would really like to know what the verified values are so that I can explain to them the operation of the product.

Can you advise who I should speak to find out the values? They are described in the product TRM and so I would expect to be able to find the information somehow.

    Many thanks

    Dave

  • Hi Dave,

TI will not disclose private values in the df outside of what is described in the TRM. I'm sorry I'm unable to help give more details for this.

  • Hi Batt

Thank you very much for replying. I must admit I find it very surprising that you cannot disclose these values. For reference our companies are under NDA and we have previously tried to contact you through private channels. However due to a lack of response I thought I would try the online forum.

Please can you advise whom I should contact.

    Kind Regards

    Dave

  • Hi Dave,

I see that you are from hyperdrive. Please let's take this over PM. I'll close the thread here. Please accept my friend request and I will be able to help you.
