LM5155: Boost solution for 6.5~18Vin/54Vout/210W output

Hi team,

Could you advise the solution to meet the requirement as below? This is used as PSE application.

Vin = 6.5V~18V

Vout = 54V

Pout = 210W 

Is LM5155 suitable to be used?

Which topology you will prefer(boost or flyback), why?

    Hi Allen,

    Thank  you for posting.  Firstly, we would recommend a boost rather than a flyback, because the latter is suitable for <100W.  

    Secondly, 210W sounds a stretch for the LM5155, especially when Vin=6.5V.  I would like to recommend the LM5122 in dual phase implementation.  Anyway, you may contact the ref design group to create a ref design.
