TPS735: About fast start-up LDOs

Part Number: TPS735
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LP38693, , LP38692, TPS737, TLV759P

Hello support team、

I'd like to propose two types of LDOs which start-up fast to our customer.
The required specifications of LDOs are as follows.

[LDO1]
Input voltage: 5.6 V
Output voltage: 3.3 V and 5 V (variable type is acceptable)
Output current: 300 mA
Time from output enable ON to output voltage stabilization: less than 500 μs (at COUT = 1 μF)

[LDO2]
Input voltage: 5.6 V
Output voltage: 3.3 V and 5 V (variable type is acceptable)
Output current: 1 A
Time from output enable ON to output voltage stabilizes: less than 500 μs (at COUT = 1 μF)

I’m trying to propose the following ICs.
[LDO 1] --> TPS735, LP38693
[LDO 2] --> LP38692

Is there any other good product you can suggest?

Sincerely,
M. Tachibana

  • Hi Tachibana-san,

    Those are good recommendations. Another option for the 1A rail could be the TPS737. Here is its startup profile:

    Does this answer your question?

    Regards,

  • Hello John-san,

    Thank you for your comment.

    I checked TPS737.
    tSTR (STR Start-up time) of TPS737 is 600 µS (typ), so I think it doesn't meet the customer's requirement.

    I think that TLV759P (tSTR = 500 µS (typ)) is just within the allowable.

    Sincerely,
    M. Tachibana
