LM3404: Contrast Ratio

Hi E2E,

Good day.

What is the contrast ratio of LM3404 and TPS92692? Can anyone of these parts achieve a minimum contrast ratio of 15,000, or 25,000 to 1?

    Carlo,

    Contrast ratio is not directly controlled by either device.  In both cases, it is a function of the topology, component choice, operating points and control signal resolution.  In general, 15,000:1 in a switching regulator is only possible with a buck converter using a shunt FET.  Please see the LM3409 and TPS92515 for examples of this dimming method.
