BQ77905: Can high-side protection be implemented? Need to maintain SMBus communication with pack

HI:

I am considering using the BQ77905 for a 3S pack protection project. The pack needs to maintain SMBus communication when the protection opens the power connection to the host. Can high-side protection be implemented (vs low-side) without too much complexity and the same reliability? Any examples?

Hi Thomas,

We have seen configurations where the CHG FET is high side and the DSG FET is low side. Refer to this post for more information:

I do not know of any examples where both of the FETs were high side.
