BQ78350-R1: Fuel Gauge IC giving partial data

Greetings,

Our project has BQ769400 3DBT as an AFE and BQ78350 DBT R-R1 as fuel gauge IC. We are using 15s cells. When we connect battery and check the register contents of AFE ic using I2C bus then we get correct values(all 15 cells correct voltages, 3 temperature sensors correct temperature). This AFE is interfaced with the previous stated fuel gauge ic. Now when we read register contents of fuel gauge ic using SMBus then we get first 5 cells values , device id and first temperature sensor value correct but all others are zero or wrong(2 temperature sensors are showing negative temperature).

For reading AFE registers I am using bq769x0 evaluation software(provided by TI) and for fuel gauge ic Battery Management Studio software(by TI) . The interface between these software and ICs is an EV200(also by TI).

Kindly suggest the troubleshooting process.

Hi Bhushan,

Have you set the AFE Cell Map parameter in the BQ78350-R1 Data Memory screen in BQStudio? (See Step 14 on Page 8 of the BQ76930/40 EVM User Guide) I think by default, it is only set up for 5 cells.
