TLC6C5724-Q1: Is there a way to run 3-4 LED’s per string with this driver?

Hi Team,

For my application, I am looking at driving a string of more than 1 LED. This we were planning on doing by regulating to right above the max expected forward voltage for the LED’s in the string and driving them with the low side driver.

The Sense pin seems to be made with just one LED per channel in mind. Is there a way to run 3-4 LED’s per string with this driver? Can the sense pin be connected to a voltage divider, or left disconnected, without the whole chip turning off?

Hi David,

I think the input voltage can't be higher than 8V, so you should calculate the numbers of LED in one string based on the vf.

Thanks for the response! Just to clarify, there’s no problem having multiple LEDs as long as the combination of all the forward voltages is less than 8V?
