Hello Kevin,

It looks like SHDN pin is made high with 24V supply. SHDN pins is rated up 5.5V only. It should be pulled high with voltage < 5.5V.

If short circuit or over load is expected on output, add a diode on OUT as shown in Figure 38 in the datasheet.

For layout refer to section 12 in the datasheet.
