battery charger with battery heater

hi,

we are working on a battery charger for a 1S pack, where we need to add a control that turns on a heater (embedded into the pack) if Tambient is <0degC.

we are looking for a standalone/complete analog solution (no MCU / SW).

this modules will be enabled and supplied by the charger when inserted (and not by the battery).

any advice is more than welcome, otherwise we would start looking for a discrete implementation

thansk a lot in advance

  • Vincenzo,

It seems like for your application you would need a temperature switch. We have both pin programmable and resistor programmable temperature switches, which can send an alert to the system when a temperature threshold (0degC in your case) has been tripped.

A few additional questions to select best temperature switch for your customer.

    • How many trip points of interest are there?
    • Is resistor programmable or pin programmable (factory preset) temperature switch preferred?

    Thanks,

    Jalen
