TPS7B63-Q1: WD port has built-in pull-down resistance

Hi team,

My customer asks if external pull-down resistance should be recommended for the node between WD and MCU's GPIO.

According to IWD spec in datasheet, it seems WD port has built-in pull-down resistance from 125k ohm to 250k.

Can we recommend to leave this node without external pull-down resistance?

Hi Nobuo,

As long as you meet the datasheet absolute maximum requirements, the part should be fine.
You do not need an external pull down resistor unless the current sink capability of the LDO is not sufficient for your needs.

To be clear, the datasheet lists the sink capability as 2uA nominal and 4uA maximum for V_WDO = 5V.
This equates to 2.5Meg ohms and 1.25Meg ohms, respectively.
