TL431: temperature vs Vref curve

Hi ,

datasheet Fig 1 shows temper vs Vref curve, but it seems corresponding to 2% accuracy part. Customer hope to get related curve for 0.5% part ( B grade) .

Also, they hope to do temp compensation to improve the accuracy of Vref. Do you think it's OK?

Hi Given,

If temperature drift is a concern to the customer, I would use the TL431LI because it has an improved temperature drift. The TL431LI 1ku is lower than the TL431 1ku so it can be more price aggressive.

The TL431LI curve on the datasheet will apply to the 0.5% B grade.

If they still need 0.5% data, what temperature range do they need?

Thanks for your reply and sorry for late reply.

Customer still want the curve on TL431 0.5% part. Temp range is from -25 to 70.

Also, customer want to know if it's OK to do temp compensation to improve the accuracy for whole temp or low temp. Thanks.

Hi Given,

It is fine to do temperature compensation. It is important to understand that we guarantee performance on the EC table but the shape of the curve is typical and can vary between lot to lot.
