LM5060: what's the drive current of LM5060?

Part Number: LM5060
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UCC23513,

Hi,

in our gate driver product like UCC23513 we have the parameter of sourcing and sinking current of the gate driver.

LM5060 is also used to turn on/off a MOSFET, but I can't find the spec.

Is Igate parameter below the sourcing current capability of this device? Isn't 24uA too small? This is the current sourcing to Cgs of external MOSFET to turn on the MOSFET, right?

Besides, do we need add gate drive resistor between GATE pin of LM5060 and gate side of external MOSFET?

  • Hi Howard Zou,

Yes, IGATE is the sourcing current for LM5060 and it is 24uA.

Typical application of this device is for inrush current limit and hence low sourcing current would be sufficient.

A 10Ohm (typ) gate drive resistor is recommended.
