I have been looking at the LM7800 for a charging application. The datasheet is fairly clear about how the output voltage of this device is related to its input voltage, but I was not able to figure out what happens with the current. Is the output current the same as the input current? If not, what factors affect the output current and how can I manipulate these factors to get the output current I need?
