TPS65950/30/20: VBAT and PWRON connection guideline

On the PMIC device the VBAT pin is connected to main battery and the PWRON should be ideally connected to a push button to enable having a PWRON event to power the device ON. It may happen that the platform doesnt really need the PWRON push button based on the power on logic and specific use case. In this case the PWRON pin can be connected to the main battery supply.

However, the following should be considered if the above is done. Since in the case when PWRON is connected to battery supply then a pulse at PWRON is not possible and there cannot be a power-on event based on the push button. The only power-on event in this case for an initial power on is the connection of a valid supply at VBAT pin. The detection threshold on VBAT pin on this device is 3.2V +/- 100mV.

Make sure that the above threshold is taken into account in your designs to have the correct functionality.
