LM5176: Pls help to suggestion Output 24V/19A EFF > 91% at load 25-100%

Part Number: LM5176

Dear ALL

Pls help to suggestion , customer  is need to know LM5176 can used for this project yes or not ?

Detail of project is below .

  1. Input: 17 to 29Vdc (from deep discharge cut off to fully charge 12V*2 SLA battery)
  2. Output: 24V/19A
  3. Efficiency: > 91% from 25-100% load

Then i need to know to improved Efficiency at 25% ,50% and 75% Load

The Ref design of LM5176 design of maximum power 300W  if you have ref design for project information Pls send to me , i can send to customer .

Thank you so much & Bestregard

  • Hi Prarinya,

Thanks for reaching out with your questions and for considering the LM5176.

On the TI reference design website there is not a reference design there is no design the meets your parameters directly. However PMP21278 is good starting point. The components that need to be changed to meet your design can be calculated using the LM5176 quick-start calculator

If your application requires a higher switching frequency it would be good to consider using a two phase design. This application note covers how to place the LM5176 in a dual phase configuration. In this case one phase would only need to handle ~228W. This would help with thermal management and allow for smaller power components.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

    Thanks,

    Garrett
