BQ25150: How to read battery temperature by using TS

Hello,

I want to read temperature of battery(Li-Ion),by using TS.

From data sheet (TI BQ25150) , I got info about Vts.

But there is no info about conversion of Vts to degree C. How to convert from Vts to degree C.

Is there is another way to read temperature of battery except ADCIN.

Hi Akshay,

The VTS code can be read through the register 0x44 and 0x45. Based on the NTC you pick and the parallel resistor, you will have to review the NTC datasheet to see what temperature the equivalent resistance has. We have the Setup Guide tool which simplifies this calculation. You can easily convert C to voltage code using that and scroll all the way down to the register section. It is a good idea to make a C to voltage converter. I will attach it to this post once complete.

Thanks for reply.

I have used this XLS, but the temperature relation with respect to register value is not same.

some time it shows difference of 24 & some time 25, 23 etc.

I am tried to make generic for same.

data sheet shows accuracy of +- 1%.

can you share the formula for that.
