TPS55340: Can I create both positive and negative rails using this part?

Hello I have a requirement where I need +/- 9V rails. My circuit is very light about 25mA from positive and 2mA from negative rail. I operate from a 5V supply.

Hi Peter,

I would suggest TLV61046A + a discrete charge pump (two schottky and a capacitor) to generate +-9V. the TLV61046A is simple and low cost for such an application.

Thanks Jasper for your response, the only thing is that I need to use the -EP part for my application. Can I do the same trick to this part? And if not, why?

Hi Peter,

yes. TPS55340 with additional charge pump also achieve +-9V.
