BQ78350-R1: What will be happen without ALERT pin.

Part Number: BQ78350-R1

Dear all

       1. If the ALERT pin of BQ78350-R1 device is always in GND,  What happened on the BQ78350-R1 device ?

       2. If the ALERT pin of BQ78350-R1 device is always in high voltage,  What happened on the BQ78350-R1 device ?

       3. If the ALERT pin of BQ78350-R1 device is always in float,  What happened on the BQ78350-R1 device ?

  • Hi,
We are currently out of the office but one of our engineers will come back to you when we return.
    Thank you for your understanding.

  • Hi Went,

The ALERT pin is used to communicate to the BQ78350-R1 device that a coulomb counter measurement is available or that a fault has been detected by the AFE. If this pin is not connected correctly (tied to GND, high voltage, or floating), then the BQ78350-R1 will not be harmed. But it will not be able to gauge the battery correctly because it is no longer receiving current measurements from the AFE. It will also not be able to clear faults on the AFE.

    Best regards,

    Matt
