Will UCC28C41D ever go obselete?

Hello,

We wish to use UCC28C41D in our product.

My Manager has asked for me to use a controller which is good, cheap, and will not go obselete.

-therefore, i chose the UCC28C41D.

-Though please may i ask, relatively speaking, what are the chances of UCC28C41D ever going obselete?.......and if it were to go obselete, would there be many equivalent chips on the market that we could use instead?

We are designing a 40V to 5V (2W)  step-down converter, and have decided to use a SEPIC with UCC28C41D....

we need it to have skip-cycle in light load , so we did that with an external comparatoe connected to the COMP pin as in the book "Switch mopde power supplies" by Christophe Basso.

We also needed the light operating current as in the UCC28C41D....and the 50% max duty is good.
