If the model is not available, then we send the battery to TI for characterization, am I right?

Yes that is correct.

For EOS mode though, given that the gauge uses the rate of change of the resistance slope to determine the EOS of the cell, the default id can be used.

For SOH mode, you need the correct id. Accumulator mode doesn't require a chem id.
