BQ24295: Will charer IC over drive external charger?

HI BCP,
Posting this question on behalf of my customer..

"We are using the BQ78Z100 and BQ24295. The charging current in the bq78Z100 will be programmed to 1.295mA, and the bq24295 IC will use this current directly. However, the maximum output of the external charger, which is performed like a power supply, is only 500mA, 5V. Is there any concern if we set as this? Will the charger IC over drive the external charger?"

What is the purpose of the external charger? How is the external charger connected to BQ24295?

It can be viewed as a power supply, with communication. it supplies 2.5W (5V, 0.5A) power to the battery. It is directly connected to BQ24295 with MCU control. Please see my e-mail for a block diagram.
