TPS3613-01: unused pin configuration(SENSE, MR and RESET)

Part Number: TPS3613-01

Dear Specialists,

My customer is considering TPS3613-01 and has a question.

I would be grateful if you could advise.

---

Could you please recommend how we should terminate the unused pins(SENSE, MR and RESET) for unused?

---

I appreciate your great help in advance.

Best regards,

Shinichi

  • Hi Shinichi-san,

Please see the function table and choose the conditions of Vout, /RESET, RESET, and /CEOUT they desire. This will help you decide whether to ground or connect the pins to Vdd.

    Thanks,
    Abhinav.

  • Hi Abhinav,

    Thank you for your reply.

I confirmed your advise and consider.

I have three question, could you please advise.

    -----

(1)The RESET pin is an output, the logic of H / L depends on VIT, VDD and BAT.
What should the output be in this case?

(2)Since MR pin is an input pin, should it be inactive H when not used?

(3)The SENSE pin must be connected because it is necessary to determine whether VDD is higher or lower than VIT.

    Is it correct?

    -----

    I appreciate your great help.

    Best regards,

    Shinichi

  • Shinichi-san,

    1) I don't quite understand this question. If this pin is unused, you can leave it floating since it is an output.

    2) Since /MR is an input, you are correct. You should be terminating this with a high signal.

    3) You're correct, you should be connecting SENSE to the rail you are monitoring to ensure it stays above the threshold.

    Thanks,
    Abhinav.

  • Hi Avhinav,

    Thank you for your reply.

    I listed my understanding below.

Could you please advise about these understanding?

    ---

    (1) RESET : Floating

(2)MR : Floating  Because this pin is connected to VDD in the device, I think it doesn't need to connect device outside, is it correct?

    (3) SENSE : It should be connected to the rail with resistor.

    ---

    I appreciate your great help.

    Best regards,

    Shinichi

  • Shinichi-san,

    Your understanding is correct.

    Thanks,
    Abhinav.
