TPS62147: TPS62147 digital input connections

Hi,

The datasheet for the TPS62147 mentions in the layout guidelines (12.1) the following: "In case any of the digital inputsEN, FSEL or MODE need to be tied to the input supply voltageat VIN, the connection must be made directly at the input capacitor as indicated in the schematics.Please also see the EVM User ́s Guide SLVUBE9."

I looked in the user's guide without finding any specific information. The eval board connects the signals through a jumper directly to Vin or GND.

I'd like to have a resistor settable MODE pin (and perhaps others) that connect to Vin or GND. Should I use 0-ohm resistors? If I use a somewhat large resistance (~10k) or a large resistor divider, is the requirement that the node connect directly at the Vin input capacitor critical?

Mark,

If you look at the high side of the JP1, JP2 and JP3 jumpers you will see that the etch is connected as close to the input capacitors C1 and C5 as is practical. Yes you should use zero ohm resistors to make the selections.

Thanks for your quick and clear response. Is there a recommendation for the size of the resistors when using the UVLO function of the enable pin?

Mark,

I would typically use values in the 10k to 100k range.
