BQSTUDIO: Can't enter CC Gain value in BQStudio

Part Number: BQSTUDIO

Hello,

I try to initialize the BQ27750 present on my custom board in order to measure the remaining capacity of my Battery in real time. On my board, there is a 10mOhms shunt resistor.

I have followed the "CC Gain/Capacity Gain Calibration" procedure described in the 10.3.3 (page 47) section of the BQ27750 Reference Manual (sluubi6a). After some measurements, I find a CC Gain of 0.000315 (with Icc = 105mA and ADCcc = 333).

But I can't enter this value in BQStudio and I don't know what value I should enter. Could somebody please help me ?

Thanks.

Regards.

  • Hi Malo

Is your gauge measuring a current value when the actual current flow is 0mA. If that is not the case, then there is no need to perform a cc or board offset calibration. The gauge performs auto cc calibration before going into sleep mode. So there really isn't a need for the cc or board offset calibration, that is why it is not existent in bqstudio

    thanks

  • Hi Onyx,

I don't have problem when the current flow is 0mA.

The problem occurs when battery is charging and I try to measure a current (per example 50mA actual current flow and the gauge measure a value of 570 mA). That's why I tried to calibrate the CC Gain and the Capacity Gain with the procedure "10.3.3 CC Gain / Capacity Gain Calibration" of the BQ27750 reference manual.

The default value on BQ Studio is 1.036 for CC Gain and Capacity gain.

    Thanks for your answer.

  • Does anybody know how I can get a reliable current measurement with the BQ27750 ?

    Thanks.

  • Hi,

My problem was that I was trying to calibrate current with a current flow lower than 100mA.

    Thanks for yout help.
