bq2060a difficulty

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ2060A

Hello everyone,

We have made custom board of bq2060a. We are using AT24C02a EEPROM. We have calibrated all registers. For time being we have disabled all corrections and degradation factors. We are stuck in following-

1. When we read monitor with the help of AT91SAM7X micro controller, we can successfully read constant calibrated values like manufacturing date, chemistry name, device name, etc. When we try to read voltage, we get arbitrary values. We are keeping voltage at Vcell1 to Vcell4 pins less than 1.25 as suggested by datasheet. What can be possible mistakes while monitoring voltage through bq2060a?

2. Is there any way of knowing if monitor is reading correct values from eeprom? how to check communication between eeprom and monitor?

3. voltage if applied zero at Vcell pins, still a non zero value is obtained through monitor. also, voltage register gives constant value even if Vcell pin voltage varies. What are possible failure point here?

4. What is the sequence in which bq2060a operates after power up? ( when does in take data, how based on which calibration factors?

5. When 'pack configuration' and 'battery status' registers are read after calibrating eeprom, obtained values do not match with fed values. why is that so? How are these values modified internally?

Any help would be highly appreciated. Thank you.
