WEBENCH® Tools/TPS43060: The output of tps43060 is abnormal

Part Number: TPS43060

Tool/software: WEBENCH® Design Tools

Dear All,..

Our customer is using tps43060 as boost. And the output of tps43060 is abnormal.

The schematic diagram is as follows, in which q22 design error has been modified.

The Tss (Soft-Start time) is Designed to 1ms because of Css is 4.72nF. This parameter refers to the reference design generated on the WEBENCH. But in Datasheet, the Css is 0.1uF, in this way the Tss is 0.02mS. Which parameter configuration is better? Does this parameter cause output failure.

The waveform of VCC measured by the customer is as follows:

The LDRV waveform measured by the customer is as follows:

G-pole and S-pole waveforms of MOS v21:

Please check the schematic design. We look forward to your suggestions to help us solve the problem as soon as possible.

  • Hi Kevin,

Sorry to hear you are having issues with the TPS43060. Can you please post the waveforms of the abnormal output voltage?

When the gate drive voltage is being probed is the ground lead short? Otherwise noise can be injected into the signal. What is the operating condition that these waveforms are measured?

Regarding the SS capacitor I suggest using the larger value. This will ramp the output voltage up slowly keeping it from overshooting the target output voltage.

    Thanks,

    Garrett
