Hello,

what is he purpose of the optional snubber that can be found in the BQ25703A data sheet? 

The snubber is also used in the evaluation board. Can you explain in which cases the snubber can be omitted?

    Hi,

    The snubber is intended to protect the IC against extreme overshoot at adapter plug in.  If you are using a lower voltage adapter whose output voltage is well below the ICs input pin and/or input FETs absolute maximum rating, the snubber may not be necessary.
