TPS65094: TPS650942A0 reset issue

Part Number: TPS65094

Hi Team,

My customer issued that there is a reset issue in recent produced single board computer (apollo lake platform).

     Here are their findings.

      (1) All the output voltages of the PMIC drop except for buck1 (its waveform is different to other outputs)

      (2) No droop at the input voltages (12V, 5V) and the control signal (EN)

We want to capture the fault status of the PMIC. Is that possible the PMIC keeps the fault status even if it is forced to reset due to OCP, OVP....

Would you mind to give us some suggestions?

Thanks

Sincerely,

Edward

  • Hi Edward,

If the PMIC loses input voltage it will reset the faults and you will be unable to read the faults that occurring during the failure. Whether or not the PMIC resets the fault flags if input power is not lost depends on what kind of reset the device is experiencing. I will reach out to you through email to discuss this further.

    Best regards,
