With the K you can control the weight that the new sample has versus the history that is a function of older/previous samples.
The more weight the new sample has the less effect to the filtration/averaging, therefore the averaged result will move faster.
The less weight the new sample has the stronger is the filtration/averaging, therefore the averaged result will move slower.
